It’s that time of year again! Time to get your drink on in support of the fight against multiple sclerosis. The 8th Annual MS Pub Crawl is from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. (or later depending on your booze endurance) this Saturday, March 9th in Ballard. This event, organized by my good friend and fundraising guru, Molly Johnston, has raised over $55,000 in support of research and programs working to find a cure for M.S. and help families currently dealing with the disease.

This crawl is no joke. All the money raised goes directly to the National MS Society, and all the participants know how to party. For realz, yo. We be drinking. Not sure where the thug life grammar came from, but it felt good.

Thirty dollars gets you in, with a t-shirt and drink specials at every bar on the crawl list. Below is the list of participating bars, and a link to register. Come join me and the approximately 300 other awesome people who will be in attendance. You can think of it as training for St. Patrick’s Day drinking with the added bonus of doing good for the community. Who can say no to that? Bad people, that’s who. (Just kidding, you’re all wonderful, no matter if you attend or not. Xoxo… but you should probably come.)

It's Outdoor Movie Season!

Yep, it’s official. When the outdoor movie schedules start coming out, it means summer is on the way. AND, the 80-degree weather is bound to follow, right?

Below I’ve outlined three outdoor movie locations and line-ups for the coming months. If you know of another I should add, feel free to let me know in the comments, and I’ll update this post accordingly!

King’s Hardware (5225 Ballard Ave NW) hosts outdoor movies every Monday beginning at approximately 9 p.m. They will serve free popcorn and 28-cent hot wings, as well as film-appropriate food and drink specials. Follow them on Twitter or like them on Facebook to get updates

Here is the line-up:

  • July 11th- Roadhouse
  • July 18th- Red Dawn
  • July 25th- Point Break
  • August 1st- Office Space
  • August 8th- Super Mario Bros.
  • August 15th-What About Bob?
  • August 22nd- Dumb & Dumber
  • August 29th- The Notebook

Fremont Studios (155 N 35th) hosts outdoor movies every Saturday night. They also serve drinks and food for a small fee.

Here is the line-up:

  • July 9 – Anchorman
  • July 16 – Twiligt
  • July 23 – Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle
  • July 30 – Princess Bride
  • August 5 (Friday) – Clockwork Orange
  • August 6 – Pulp Fiction
  • August 13 – Tron
  • August 27 – The Big Lebowski
Redhook Brewery’s Bowl (14300 NE 145th St. Woodinville) hosts outdoor movies each Thurswday with gates open at 6 p.m. and movies beginning at dusk. Admission is $5 and BBQ food, Redhook beer and wine will be available for purchase.

  • July 28 – Predator, All-ages
  • August 4 – Stripes, All-ages
